Enlarged hearts
Apologies to anyone who’s got the large heart disease.
Some of us have got large hearts too, though not physically. we have been through a lot that makes Paul’s statement “to live is Christ, to die is gain” quite as real to us as it was to Paul. Our lives have become centred on the word of God and our temperaments spirit controlled.
We live our lives daily on the word of God, we are very optimistic; because the word makes us understand that “all things are for our sakes” we know likewise that “all things are ours”.
We do not live a lie , we live by faith, we do not confess the word of God like its a poem, we chant it, because its the beginning of our life, shaper of our life and determining factor of our future. We are not hypocrites, calling things that are not, “we call things that are not as though they were” because they are. “All things were made by him, without him was not anything made that was made” Our Faith says it is so, even when it is not so, because it is so and will be so.
We are not fanatics, we do not follow religion, we live like Christ lived “let this mind be in you like it was in Christ, he humbled himself till death, even the death on the cross”.
We do not seclude ourselves from the world “we are not of the world, yet we live in the world”, we work, we eat, we love and have children. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed...”We have had wants and desires, believed for many things, we have held the word of God on so many accounts, and he has never failed. We have felt at some point maybe it won’t come to pass, but we know “faithful is he that has promised” and we know that “he is not a man that he should lie nor the son of man to repent” we have felt like throwing in the towel so many times, but we are the seed of Abraham, we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if Abraham did not throw in the towel, why should we....."who against hope believed in hope....and being not weak in faith he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old,...........he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able to perform”
I have come to see our wants and desires as something that God knows about, I have come to realize that we are made for his glory and he decides to bless us just because he decides too and just because he is God...so if we ask and he says “no", we do not feel he has done it out of hatred, and when he says “yes", we do not feel he said so because we did something to deserve the answer yes...he knows our end from our beginning, he is in between the end and beginning of our lives, and he knows what is best for us. He is God and he does only well.
We have moved from drinking milk to eating meat in our walk with God, we are not tossed about with every wave of doctrine, we do not live by our five senses, we do not focus on the material, we lay up our treasures where moth can’t reach, and where our treasures are, there is our heart.
We have been cheated, but have not stopped giving, we have been disappointed, but have not stopped expecting, we have been heartbroken, but have not stopped loving.....
“we owe no man nothing but love”
Against all odds we rise, never to give-up, never to give in.....and times when we feel low....we still rise.
Our hearts are enlarged....
Our Ultimate Calling is to be like Christ.
Merry Christmas 2012
