Evil and its Opposite
What makes me think I have an obligation to keep writing and posting on this blog…well the answer is simple it’s my blog, and it carries my name, I created it and thus I have a responsibility to keep it functional; well if I decide to stop writing now, it won’t make sense to have created the blog, and taken all the pain to write, and post…..This is the way I view man and God.
The other day I got into a pretty nasty discussion; we were talking about purpose, and this guy got so worked up when I was asking him about purpose. He asked me why I was asking him what his purpose is, when thousands are hungry; people do not have homes to sleep, poverty and wars going on….. At this point I paused, I had never tot about it that way. All this while it’s been about me and purpose, I saw purpose as a personal thing, I’ve never tot of asking a hungry child what his/her purpose is, I never tot of asking the beggar on the street what his purpose his. Well Deepak might have said what he said as an excuse not to answer the question (well he finally didn’t have an answer), but he struck a chord in me.
Later on, the discussion led itself into marriages, relationships, and then whether God does evil. I have met more than one person; esp. here in India, who believes okay there’s a God...accepts, but doesn’t think he intervenes in the affairs of men. Hey unlike some of us who believe there’s God, there’s even the Holy Spirit that helps our infirmities. At this point it clicks to me, that they hold God responsible for all that is happening in the world, they do not take cognizance of the good (they believe the good that happens is normal), they believe if truly he is God he should intervene, they believe if he really wants them to get closer to him he should show them a Sign.
Psalm 100:5 says “God is good and his mercy endures forever”. Good is one of his personalities. This is what I think; you can’t and should not define someone until you really know who they are. Just like a detective would not declare one a criminal till thorough investigation has taken place, even if the evidence supported by the majority says he’s the criminal. Now people do not take time out to understand who God is, nor give him the chance to let him be God in their lives. They conclude by what their eyes see, and still decide not to draw closer to him.
Just like my blog, and the responsibility I have towards it. God created us, and has a responsibility to us ward, if we’ll allow him. God is not a political party leader, and would not force you to come to his side, the greatest gift he gave to us, is the gift of choice; and that of our own will. I keep an open mind when it comes to the wars, the poverty, and I look at the world this way: as a foreign land, as a market, no one wants to stay in the market all day, no one wants to stay in a foreign land forever, and we all believe there’s no place like home. I see myself as subject to God, as one who has been sent to the market to purchase something; as one who has been sent to a foreign land to deliver, who will surely return.
I want to paint this scenario. Have you ever had an experience with the government over breaking of some specific rules, and you are angry that you are being punished and you make statements like “The government is punishing me “well the truth is you are punishing yourself. Almost all countries in the world run elections to determine their leaders, and those who make the rules. Hence indirectly you make the rules, and the existence of rules or laws is what brings about sin, so if you break the rule, you’ll obviously get punished by you (the people you put to set the rules). You know it’s amazing that some Christians also believe that when they do something wrong that God punishes them, and they’ll show you scriptures. I believe God is God and complete in himself. If you ever did chemistry in school there’s some topic that has to do with balancing equations; you have to make sure the chemical compounds on the left equals the one on the right, and in most cases the chemical compounds on the left is different from the chemical compound on the right. This is what I think evil exist to balance the equation, sins exist because there’s a law, God does no evil and so when you do something wrong and you are experiencing some tough time note This : it’s not God who’s punishing you. With respect to poverty: Deut 15:11 “For there will never be a time when there are no poor in the land; and so I give orders to you, Let your hand be open to your countrymen, to those who are poor and in need in your land”.
The point is not many people know there’s a God, and even those who know, do not believe he intervenes in the affairs of men. Most of what happens in the world today is as a result of man and the decisions we make as individuals. This has affected and still is affecting our global system. You’ll only see what you want to see (mindset) you don’t expect to see God in his Glory and Goodness when you have a mindset. Romans 10:13 “As many as call upon the name of the lord shall be saved”. For you to call upon God’s name you must have had a conviction and believe he can save you.
I see myself as being privileged to know God the way I do, and still desire to know him more, I see myself as a pilgrim here, I believe in purpose and its fulfillment, I believe God has a place for everybody, even the poor, I believe God has given so many of us; the poor as our responsibility, I know it will never get better on the physical ( the wars and the poverty, but as many that call upon the name of the lord shall be saved), I believe in the midst of all the evil God still remains God and nothing can change that, God is waiting for you to yield to him.
For as many that will keep an open mind to knowing God for who he is, find their purpose, and get on the road to fulfilling destiny, you’ll realize that God does no evil, and has a responsibility of keeping his own.

This girl really could be a preacher, so deep is her faith and so strong her convictions, good for her.
