Insight on the Past

It took so long writing this piece, not because there wasn't anything to write about; there was, but I was waiting for a meeting point, that center that holds everything together. Then it struck me, we could talk about our experiences, our pasts and present and our hopes for the future. This seems like the total structure for the human existence. We are always in a present, with a past to remember, hide from, or for some people hold on to, and well thank God for the opportunity of a future where we can keep the hope alive.
In one of the older posts I remember writing about the child hood fantasies and dreams, the 'You' you tot you wanted to be, when you was 10 years old, the 'You' you are now and the 'You' you hope to be in the closest future, and now breaking away from the past that seems to hold and limit us.
So the questions are:
1] will the you at 10 be proud of the you now at your present state ?
2] Does the you now wish to be what the you at 10 saw ?
3] do you have regrets?
4] will what the you at 10 saw that you did not realize, stop you from being what you want to be and most importantly living life at its fullest?

Basically, its pretty funny..everybody knows I'm always doing the introspection, okay so while I was doing the usual introspection on the last 2 months experiences, there were times I tot about the past. Now am not trying to be some saint, neither have I been a very bad girl....lol.....but there are these little and important things the me at 10 would have wanted to see in the me now that aren't there, there are the little decisions I made that made few people have a wrong perception of me, unfortunately I couldn't explain properly to them, or they just chose to see things from their own point of views. So well I thought about these, and it dawned on me that these so-called pasts would really like to leave you to be you, but we unconsciously cling to them asking them to come back to either hunt us or hold us down..as the case may be. The whole thought pattern did really weigh me down....Then I saw the scripture that tells us to 'lay aside every weight that so easily besets us, running with patience the race set before us'.. Hebrew 12:1

The truth is a whole lot of us struggle with issues about our past, little or not , they are a largely significant part of our lives and our present is a lot dependent on how we can let go of the past, funny enough letting go isn't just about the bad stuffs, it also includes the good stuff when its time's up. I have 2 brothers and my immediate younger brother, who doesn't do clean-ups regularly, has the habit of reminding you that he had actually done a clean up before, even if its 3 months back. A lot of us are tied to past success and victories. Even Paul who was formerly known as Saul of Tarsus..in Philippians 3 gave a brief on his resume, stating the positive and negative, who he his, who he was, what he ought to be and what he wants to be: Phillipians3:13-14.
Isaiah 43:18 says: “Forget the former things;do not dwell on the past.” God told the Israelites that they had gone round a mountain for too long, it was time for them to move forward.

A really dear person taught me about Faith and I wont give y'all details**winks**. Faith is what we hope and its the evidence of things we've not seen. The fact that we tell our colleagues 'see you tomorrow' is some level of Faith we exercise. We unconsciously or consciously focus on the things we cant see(Tomorrow) and close our eyes to what's right in front of us for example, the traffic that can hinder us, the mosquitoes causing malaria that could make some fall sick and not get to see that colleague the next day. The truth is we are called to live the life of faith. The scriptures tell us 'the just shall live by faith' your default should be that of faith. Thus talking with respect to our present and our futures...we should decide to look at only the possibilities of today and tomorrow not based on the failures and mess-ups of yesterday. We are not of them that draw back unto perdition/darkness, but we believe by faith to the saving of our souls....The message translation says: 'we are not quitters who lose out, oh no! We'll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.'....Hebrews 10:39

Irrespective of how dirty the past was, there's always God's grace and God's mercy....we wont take advantage of that; would we, but we'll use it when its totally necessary. If the past has been bright all the way, we must understand that there's more we can do. There's more to US than just us; Let Go
